Tallest Tower Challenge
Think like an engineer: build the tallest tower you can with just paper!
Materials:
10–15 sheets of printer paper
Small piece of tape (optional; you can also do no-tape)
Scissors
Plan Before Building (5 minutes)
Have groups sketch or talk through a plan
Encourage thinking about:
Wide bases
Rolling or folding paper
Stacking vs. supporting
Build the Tower (10–15 minutes)
Test the Tower: Tower must stand on its own for 10 seconds. Measure the height of the tower.
Optional challenge: Add small weights and see how much the tower can hold.
